The deadline for submissions for this year’s endowment funding is April 1. This is a once-a-year opportunity to give a boost to your dreams for the church and its work.
The Endowment Fund can give out as much as $10,000 during this funding cycle, due to the growth of the fund and smaller grant cycles in recent years. Applications can be for all or part of this amount. Decisions for funding will be made during April, with funding available by May 1.
Our church bylaws specify that the endowment income cannot be used for regular operating expenses, but instead for special projects and programs that have one of the following four purposes:
- The development of new, or the enhancement of existing, programs of the First Congregational Church of Sonoma.
- Outreach in the community.
- Buildings and grounds improvements or the reduction of related debt.
- The wider mission of the church at home and overseas.
The full application guidelines are available on the church website under “About Us/Committees/Endowment,” or you can stop by the church office to pick up a copy. We also encourage you to speak to a member of the Endowment Fund team: Chair Katherine Fulton (firstname.lastname@example.org), Ellen LaBruce, Harry Boon, Alan Kelchner, ex officio for the Finance Committee.
