After 10:30 worship on Sunday January 13, join Martina Lutz Schneider, a member of our church community, as she leads a presentation on the process of Restorative Justice (RJ). Meet survivors of severe violence who will be sharing their journey of loss, grief and forgiveness followed by a discussion on how we can apply RJ to our own lives to bring forth love and forgiveness. Martina is a facilitator of Victim Offender Dialogues in State Prisons and is a member of the Ahimsa Collective, which is dedicated to working with people who have committed an act of violence, survivors of violence, families impacted by violent crime, and law enforcement. They use RJ practices and a peacemaking approach.
The interactive presentation will be approximately 90-minutes and will be open to the public. Join Martina and survivors sharing this important work of love and forgiveness in a time where we are all called upon to aspire to higher ground. Martina will introduce this topic in the sermon that Sunday. Light refreshments will be served. Your donations will help defray speakers’ travel costs. Thank you.
