PLEASE HELP PROTECT OUR NEIGHBORS
Dear ones- it is time to speak up on behalf of our brothers and sisters who are renters in our Valley. Many of whom are persons of color and immigrants, vulnerable due to job loss or wage reduction during the pandemic. Please raise your voice in support of the following:● Ban all evictions except where necessary for public health and safety.
● Ensure the right to counsel for tenants facing eviction.
● Prohibit all late fees for COVID-19 missed rent.
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors (https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Boar…/Supervisorial-Districts/) will discuss its pandemic eviction measure on Tuesday, January 25. The coalition supporting the three points below is encouraging groups and individuals to make their wishes known by phoning or emailing the supervisors before the meeting — and especially by making a public comment on Tuesday, either in person (https://sonoma-county.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx) or by email (bos@sonoma-county.org).
