West Spain Thrift Shop
Located on the East side of the Church property the West Spain Thrift Shop is a small store that sells used articles, especially clothing, to benefit charitable organizations as well as to support our church. Our mission has been for many years to provide low cost goods to our neighbors, to share fellowship with the community and to avoid adding unusable items to the landfill.
Our Shop is Open for business Thursday’s and Saturdays from 10 am to 1pm.
We currently have a 28 person volunteer staff, working to sort, price and sell items through the Shop.
We donated 50 percent of our earnings after expenses to the following non profits :
* Teen Parent Program at Sonoma High School
* Sonoma Overnight Shelter
* Redwood Food Bank
* Brown Baggers who distribute lunches
* Sonoma Valley Teen Center who provide job training.
Our goal is to support the neediest Sonoma residents such as identified in the recent demographic study of our area „Hidden in Plain Sight „
The remaining 50 percent of our proceeds supports the Church.
The Thrift Shop draws many to our campus who consider our Shop their Shop. We provide a gathering place for regular customers who show up rain or shine.
We support the philosophy of Reuse -Recycle-Repurpose. We have a governing Board of seven volunteers who guide us in our path of being the face of the church in our greater community.
